Dr. Axel Gray
Dr. Gray graduated from the University of Tennessee in 1984. He and his wife opened the hospital in 1990 with one employee. Coastal now proudly employs five additional doctors and about 38 support staff. Dr. Gray enjoys spending time with his family, golf, outdoor water sports, and coaching youth sports.
Dr. Scott Jacobs
Dr. Jacobs joined our staff as an associate veterinarian upon his graduation from the University of Georgia in 1999. His veterinary interests include general medicine and ultrasound technology.

Dr. Zachary Bissell
Dr. Bissell graduated from the University of Florida in 2004. After practicing locally for a few years, he joined our veterinary staff in May of 2008.
Dr Heather Avery
Dr. Heather Avery has recently joined our practice to bring another level of service to our clients. She is passionate about caring for exotics such as birds, reptiles, rabbits and ferrets as well as our clients' dogs and cats. Dr. Avery graduated from the College of Veterinary Medicine at Auburn University in May of 2009. We are thrilled to have her unique expertise, and know that you will enjoy working with her as
