What's with the Construction?

It's no secret that there's something going on here at Coastal Veterinary Hospital. As you pull in to our facilities, you may notice the back lot filled with construction workers, tractors, and concrete trucks. Everyone at Coastal Veterinary Hospital and Pet Resort is very excited to announce that we are building a new Indoor Doggie Daycare and Facility! Since we already have so many furry friends that love to come play and stay with us, and many more that want to join the fun at Coastal, we are expanding. The project is expected to be finished fall 2016. Keep an eye out when you come visit us to see all of the progress being made on our new addition!

Extreme Heat! Make sure your furry friends keep cool this summer.

It's HOT outside! Be sure that your pet is protected as the temperature soars. Limit time outside. Ensure that your pets have access to plenty of fresh cool water, and plenty of shade. Never leave pets in a car during the summer- even for a few minutes. Temperatures can soar well over 120 degrees with the windows open and even in shade. Since dogs don't sweat like people do, it's really difficult for them to cool down, and heat stroke can be deadly. Signs of heat stroke include excessive panting, bright red tongue and gums, body temperatures over 103 degrees, “tacky” gums, vomiting, bloody diarrhea, staggering, and coma.
